My Paris rule: if you don’t know what to do, go to le Marais.
I often find myself with no plans after rushing through a week of photoshoots, edits after edits to my paris neighborhood guides, taking Paris’ loveliest visitors on chic romps through town, visiting new coffee shops [note: apparently the dream of every parisian during lockdown was « I’m going to open a coffee shop when this is over » which has led to an explosion of [mostly] good new coffee spots but I don’t think we need any more coffee shops, we good, give it a break, guys.]
The Marais historic quarter [and it’s little sister, the Haut-Marais neighborhood aka the upper-marais] are the solution. Too much to do, pastries, museums, wine bars, little historical sights — le Marais has it so you can just plug and play.
BONNES NOUVELLES: Two things we love are coming [back] together: Sain Boulangerie + The Curiosity Collective Paris are relaunching « Make Croissants in a Boulangerie » . Get your hands in the dough with Anthony Courteille, whose sui generis croissants were celebrated by Vogue Magazine as the Best in Paris. ON-Y-VA...
STREETS of NOTE: The streets not to miss are Rue Vieille du Temple, Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Rue des Rosiers, Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, Rue François Miron, Place des Vosges (located in a former royal palace complex), and the Village Saint-Paul — a tranquil outdoor shopping/resto promenade zone. (Step out of the Village Saint-Paul and try to find the remnants of the 1000-ish year-old former boundary wall of Paris. )
