Le Moulin Rouge is a cabaret like no other...The seductive courtesans who graced the early stage transformed ye olde bump-n-grind into the French Can-Can dance here on this very stage. Le Moulin Rouge’s first legs-reaching-for-sky happened in 1889 for the benefit of the beaucoup international revelers (who likely came from more buttoned-up locales to kick up their own heels in la la libertine Paris) who streamed into Paris en masse for the same world’s fair in which That Tall Metal Thing That Lights Up debuted.
